When will my enclosure ship?

Carl’s enclosure kits are made to order, allowing for customization down to the inch! Each kit is carefully measured, sewn, and packed to perfection before shipping. Production lead times may vary based on order volume. We will get that information to you ASAP once your order is placed.

What if the black enclosure material gets hit with a golf ball?

The black enclosure material isn’t designed to withstand direct hits from golf balls.

However, if a ball hits the white impact screen and bounces into the enclosure, it should hold up without any issues.

Can I get a replacement screen for the enclosure?

How big is the enclosure?

Detailed frame dimensions can be found in the Resources section to help you select the right enclosure for your space.

Note: C-Series enclosures have a backset rear fitting, creating a footprint 9.5" deeper than the listed size.

This added buffer space helps protect your walls from hard-hit golf balls. Some deeper enclosures also include a crossbar in the middle for added support.

Installation

What are EMT pipes?

EMT stands for Electrical Metal Tubing or Conduit, commonly referred to as "pipes" on our site.

These pipes are essential for building your enclosure frame. Note that PVC pipes are not compatible with our fittings.

Options for sourcing EMT pipes:

1. Add a Pipe Framing Kit to your order (available with DIY and Pro Golf Enclosure Kits).
2. Source EMT pipes from your local building supply store.

Pipe requirements:

• DIY Enclosures require 1" EMT.
• Pro and Curved Enclosures require 2" EMT, which can be harder to find. Be sure you have a source before deciding to forgo the Pipe Framing Kit.

How long does it take to assemble the enclosure?

Carl's Curved Golf Simulator Enclosure Kits typically assemble in about 4 hours.

We recommend having at least two helpers, especially for handling the frame’s pipes. Check out our assembly guide for additional tips.

Is Carl's curved golf simulator really DIY?

Absolutely! While it requires two people for assembly, the process is simple. If you’ve ever survived assembling a European dresser with picture-only instructions, this will be a breeze!

What pipes do I need to construct the enclosure kit frame?

Curved Golf Enclosures require 2-inch EMT (Electrical Metal Tubing). Adding a Pipe Framing Kit to your order provides pre-cut, labeled pipes for easy assembly.

Important Notes:

• 2-inch EMT can be difficult to source locally, so confirm availability before opting out of the Pipe Framing Kit.
• Orders with the Pipe Framing Kit ship via freight. If you can’t unload a pallet of 50lb boxes, consider adding lift gate service. For international orders, freight shipping may be cost-prohibitive.

Does a curved golf simulator require a special projector?

For seamless image alignment on the curved screen, you have two options:

1. Use a projector with built-in image warping capabilities.
2. Pair any standard projector with warping software like Immersive Display Pro to adjust the image for the curve.

Pro Tip: Measure the projector distance from the leading (front) edge of the screen closest to the golfer—not the deepest part of the curve.

How do the ball bungees work?

Ball bungees secure the screen to the frame along with reusable zip ties.

How to attach ball bungees:

1. Insert the loop end of the bungee into a grommet from the back of the screen.
2. Pull the toggle ball snug against the grommet.
3. Wrap the cord around the frame.
4. Hook the cord over the toggle ball to create a secure loop.

Custom Options

Can you make a custom-sized curved enclosure?

Absolutely! Our curved golf simulator enclosures can be tailored to fit your unique space, as long as it falls within these outer dimensions:

• Height: 102" to 120"
• Width: 144" to 240"
• Depth: 82" to 240"

These measurements reflect the enclosure's outer edges. Be sure to leave additional buffer space—6 inches above and 2-3 inches on each side—for proper installation.

What’s the smallest space I can use for a curved golf simulator?

Have a smaller space? The minimum area needed for Carl's Curved Golf Enclosure Kit is 9 ft high x 12.5 ft wide x 18 ft deep. This includes buffer space—6 inches above and 2-3 inches on each side of the enclosure. Need guidance? Reach out to us for assistance in designing a custom enclosure that fits your space.

Can I customize the curvature of the screen?

The curvature of the screen is pre-engineered to deliver maximum immersion and optimal performance.

The curve, known as the Curve Rise (the distance between the deepest part of the screen at the center and the ends of the screen), is fixed at 4.5 feet across all curved enclosures.

While the Curve Rise cannot be adjusted, the overall outer dimensions of the enclosure can be customized to fit your specific space requirements.

EMT Requirements

If you haven’t chosen the Pipe Framing Kit add-on, you’ll need to purchase 1-inch EMT (electrical metal tubing) from your local hardware store to complete the frame. Detailed information about the required lengths and quantities of EMT will be provided.

Please note, while referred to as 1-inch EMT in the US, the actual outer diameter of the material is 1.163" or 27mm.

Can I iron or steam a golf impact screen?
Ironing your golf screen is NOT recommended, as it can easily damage the material. To ensure your screen lasts a long time, focus on prevention. Unpack your new screen immediately upon receiving it, and if storage is necessary, fold it loosely to avoid creases. However, if you're dealing with wrinkles or folds, mounting the screen to a frame under tension (using zip ties or ball bungees) and letting it sit for a few days will naturally smooth out most imperfections.

That said, using a steamer can be effective. A clean, consumer-grade steamer with distilled water can help remove wrinkles and folds faster, without leaving water marks on the screen.
